a unique field hockey event held during Pentecost 2026 in the beautiful ‘Bollenstreek’ region of Teylingen in The Netherlands!
This exciting tournament will take place on the fields of MHC Voorhout, right in the heart of the stunning Flowerbulb area.

The programme
Friday 22 May
Meet and Greet Opening party!
Friday evening we will kick off the weekend with a big welcoming party! You will get the chance to meet and greet all teams. The evening will be filled with a tasting of Dutch cheese, the famous Dutch ‘bitterballen’, drinks, laughter and music!
Saturday 23 May
Match day!
10:00 – No worries. The tournament will kick off with coffee and tea for all participants. Grab you hockey stick, get your team together and get ready for the first matches!
All teams will compete in pools, giving everyone a chance to play multiple games throughout the day.
17:00 – By now, the final matches will wrap up, and it’s time to trade sticks for snacks! Players and supporters are invited for some well-deserved refreshments and drinks. It’s the perfect moment to cool down, share stories from the pitch, and maybe even re-live that one amazing goal (or hilarious miss).
19:00 – Dinner time! We’ll gather for a complimentary, hearty dinner to round off the day. Get ready to taste some classic Dutch food, enjoy good company and maybe learn a few new Dutch words along the way.
21:00 – Party! The fun doesn’t stop here! After dinner, our DJ will take over and get the party started. Whether you’re ready to dance just enjoy the vibes, the evening will be all about music, good times, and celebrating together. So bring your best moves – it’s time to party!
Sunday 24 May
The Finals & Closing Ceremony
We’ll start the day with some good coffee and tea again, to get you ready for the FINALS! After last night’s party, the jury has spent the night preparing the schedule for today. All teams will get a final chance to demonstrate their skills on the fields and compete for the ultimate trophy!
13:00 – Closing ceremony. After the last matches and finals, we’ll wrap up the tournament with the award ceremony and a farewell reception including lunch. A final moment to reflect on that once-in-a-lifetime goal you made and say goodbye to your international Hockey partners!

- 7-a-side, including a goalkeeper. Penalty corner/ball will become shootout = more fun and excitement!

FAQ’s
When is the tournament?
The Open Teylingen Tulip Tournament will take place on Friday 22, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 May 2026. It’s the Pentecost weekend (for the Dutch, it means they have an extra public holiday on Monday).
How many players should I have in my team
Each team plays with 7 players, including a goal keeper. Of course you can come with more players, so you have some substitutes and you can bring coaches and supporters too.
Where can I stay?
There are great places in the near surroundings for your team to stay. You can choose to book a hotel in the ‘Bollenstreek’ and come to Voorhout by bike. Most hotels in the area offer rental bikes, great to explore the flower fields too! Or combine the tournament with spending some time at the beach in Noordwijk (15 mins drive) or enjoy the beautiful historic city of Leiden. 5 mins by train or 15 mins by car.
Where can we eat?
The tournament offers you lunch and diner on Saturday. On Sunday, there is a farewell lunch for all teams after the finals.
